Supervisor: Community Outreach Coordinator
Commitment: Up to 4 hours per week, for a period of one year; A flu shot or the wearing of a mask is required during Flu season (mid November to April).
Objective: To enhance the quality of life and independence of persons living with HIV/AIDS at home, in hospital or at a hospice.

Duties
- Provides companionship and practical assistance as required (cleaning,
- organizing, paperwork, tutoring, child-minding) to persons living with HIV/AIDS
- Assists clients in improving their knowledge of, and access to, services and
- resources for persons living with HIV/AIDS
- Acts as a liaison between clients and the programme coordinator for the duration
- of the relationship
- Attends monthly team meetings

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort and ability to provide companionship and as-needed practical assistance
- Well organized and able to manage your commitment to client(s)
- Ability to adjust your schedule to match client needs within reason
- To be clear about personal and professional boundaries
- Willingness and ability to participate as part of a team
- Willingness to stay in regular contact with coordinator and/or clients’ Case
- Manager
- Must attend required team and supervisory meetings
- Must complete and submit monthly statistical information and client updates for
- reporting purposes
- Commitment to ongoing learning/training to keep skills and knowledge up to
- date
- Ability to have compassion, sensitivity, maturity and a sincere desire to assist
- people who are living with HIV.
- Must complete a criminal records check for this position

- On-going support and supervision from assigned Supervisor
- Evaluations, exit interviews, and letters of reference are available upon a
- volunteer’s request
